SURP Summer Undergraduate Residency Program at New York Academy of Art

More excitement this summer for me! Going from the very rural coast of Maine directly into the heart of New York City. Being accepted is a great opportunity for me to study at an art college noted for observational and figurative art.

Quoting their website, ”The New York Academy of Art is a graduate school of fine art focused on progressive representational and figurative art. The MFA at the Academy requires students to learn traditional methods and techniques in the service of creating vital contemporary art. Potential Academy students align with the Academy’s mission through observational skills and a balance of conceptual awareness and technical proficiency.”

Classes 7 days a week, for a month and concentrating on one subject everyday. Drawing, painting, sculpting, galleries, museums, artist studios and art history. www.nyaa.edu
